Reviewing Additional Learning Provision
Chapter 7 of the Additional Learning Needs Code for Wales 2021 indicates that local authorities (LAs) must keep the additional learning provision (ALP) under review for children and young people who have additional learning needs (ALN).
This informs our planning and decision making around provision for children and young people with additional learning needs.
We work with our schools and Specialist Resource Bases (SRBs) to complete a supported self-evaluation of additional learning provision. As part of this process, schools and SRBs will be reviewed every two years.
This will include activities such as:
- Discussion with the ALNCo/ SRB Lead and senior leadership link
- Review of key paperwork and policies
- Learning walk
- Work scrutiny
- Pupil voice
- Staff engagement
