Private Hire vehicles are licensed for transporting up to 8 passengers.  This type of vehicle must only be pre-booked and is not available from Taxi Ranks.  Private Hire Operators take bookings for transport and dispatch appropriate vehicles for the hire agreement and a pre-arranged price.  All Private Hire vehicle drivers must be licensed and wear a badge.
