If your child’s date of birth is between 1st September 2019 and 31st August 2020, they are eligible to start Reception in September 2024.  The Admissions process for children due to start primary school (reception) for September 2024 will commence on 6th November 2023.

The timetable for the admission round is detailed below:

  • Date applications available: 6th November 2023
  • Closing date for applications: 9th January 2024 at 5pm
  • Offer date: 16th April 2024

Please ensure that you complete and return your application prior to the published closing date, as failure to do so will result in your application being determined as late which will reduce the chances of you obtaining a place at your preferred school.

How do I apply?

Applications must be completed by the person holding parental responsibility for the child concerned.

Monmouthshire County Council has an Online Application System, which is available for you to use when making your child’s application. Please note that this system is not available to use until 6th November 2023.

The system enables you to view and amend your child’s application up until the closing date of 9th January 2023 at 5pm. Alternatively, you can contact us on the details below to request a paper application form.
