What is Family Group Conference (FGC) also known as Family Meeting:
A family group conference is a planning meeting led by the family and arranged by an independent person (Family Group Conference Co-ordinator).
The process ensures that families are at the centre of decision-making.
The meeting brings together family and other’s who are important to the child to create a plan for the child.
Why have a Family Group Conference:
They can be used when a decision needs to made about any aspect of the childs life.
Professional’s who know the child may have concerns or the family may be asking for support.

An independent family group conference co- ordinator facilitates the meeting.
