Community Focused Schools Lead is working closely with schools and communities in Monmouth and Chepstow areas to help create opportunities for children and young people to be actively involved in their local communities and for the community to contribute to the learning and wellbeing of local young people.

Community Focused schools develop partnerships with a range of organisations, and make services accessible locally to families and the wider community. They use their facilities and resources to benefit the communities they serve, improve the lives of the children, strengthen families and build stronger communities.  This might include opening up school buildings for use by local clubs and societies, opening school grounds for use by the wider community during weekends or school holidays, or inviting the local community into school to share skills or even food with the children.
