Monmouthshire County Council is hoping to announce that works will soon begin on regeneration proposals for Caldicot Town Centre.
Following extensive consultation, the Council have developed a Strategic Project Framework Document which outlines ambitious plans for the town and highlights five initial priorities.
- The Cross Destination Space
- Urban Centre Property Enhancement Fund
- Enterprise Hub
- Retail Parade Improvements;
- Jubilee Way – Urban Living/Courtyard Scheme
The Urban Centre Property Enhancement Fund is now open to ‘expressions of interest’ from eligible projects in the Town Centre. The Fund can provide up to 70% grant support towards the cost of improvements to targetted commercial properties (to a maximum of £250k)
The ‘Cross Destination Space’ and ‘Caldicot Enterprise Hub’ are subject to final approval of funding partners, but are expected to commence in September 2019.
All other Projects are subject to further discussions with stakeholders.
The Caldicot Town Centre Regeneration Scheme is funded by Monmouthshire County Council and the Welsh Government who have allocated £44 million across South East Wales through its ‘Targeted Regeneration Investment’ programme (TRI), 2018-21.
The TRI programme supports the economic regeneration and sustainable development of our Town Centres.
Caldicot Town was chosen as Monmouthshire’s priority Regeneration Scheme and forms part of the Cardiff Capital Region (CCR) Regeneration Plan.
