Community groups, volunteers, schoolchildren and Monmouthshire County Council will all be speaking up for Fair Pay this year’s Fairtrade Fortnight.
For 2026, Fairtrade Fortnight runs from 21 September to 4 October.
The theme of this year’s campaign is Fair Pay, because however someone earns a living, they deserve to be paid fairly.
Unfortunately, for many farmers and growers around the world who produce some of our favourite products such as tea, coffee, chocolate and bananas this isn’t the case. Fairtrade exists to change that.
Events are being held across the county, including Fairtrade stalls, workshops, coffee mornings and even a film screening.
There will also be Fairtrade displays at community hubs across Monmouthshire.
Schools will also take part, with Fairtrade assemblies and workshops. A Fairtrade stall is also being held in County Hall.
Hub visitors will be able to fill in a quiz to enter a prize draw to win Fairtrade goodies.

Buying Fairtrade is a simple action anyone can take, with lots of different Fairtrade products in our shops for different budgets.
Fairtrade means communities can invest in their families, education, healthcare, businesses and communities while looking after the environment.
Cabinet Member for Climate Change and the Environment, Cllr Catrin Maby said: “Everyone deserves to earn enough to be able to live well and support their family, wherever they are in the world.
“Buying Fairtrade products helps to protect the people that produce the goods we buy from unfair pay scales and unsafe working environments.
It’s a simple way to support fairer pay and conditions for farmers and workers.”
