Monmouthshire County Council is inviting residents, businesses and community groups to help shape the next stage of plans for Caldicot town centre and surrounding public spaces.

From Monday, 21 September, the latest phase of the Let’s Talk… Enhancing Caldicot placemaking plan opens for consultation. Local people can review and comment on a series of proposals developed in response to feedback gathered during the first phase of engagement in June 2026.

The council will also hold a face-to-face consultation drop-in session from 10am to 6pm on Tuesday, 22 September, in the pedestrianised area of the town centre. Residents will have the opportunity to view the proposals, speak to project representatives and share their views in person.

Paper copies of the proposals and survey are also available from Caldicot Town Council offices and the community hub.

During the first phase of engagement, residents highlighted priorities including supporting local businesses, creating a safer and more welcoming town centre, improving spaces and strengthening walking and wheeling connections.

Councillor Paul Griffiths, Cabinet Member for Planning and Economic Development and Deputy Leader, said: “The proposals in this second phase have been shaped by feedback from residents, businesses and stakeholders.

“People told us they want a vibrant, accessible and welcoming town centre that supports local businesses, celebrates Caldicot’s identity and is easy to move around. We have listened and developed proposals that reflect those priorities.
