Monmouthshire Children’s Services Christmas Wishes campaign returned for its 9th year and brought much needed support to vulnerable families and young people.
In a year where so many people and businesses in Monmouthshire have experienced such challenges, the generosity of companies, organisations and individuals has really demonstrated the Spirit of Christmas.
The Christmas Wishes campaign ensures families, children and care leavers receive Christmas hampers and gifts during the festive period.
In total, 85 hampers and 330 gifts were distributed as part of the campaign this year.
Many staff, groups, councillors and residents gave so generously, and special thanks must go to the following:
· Monmouthshire Building Society
· Edentstone Group
· Vistry Group
· Tesco Chepstow
· Maddie’s academy in Abergavenny
· Monmouthshire County Council’s hubs
· Morgans’ of Usk
· King Henry VIII School
· St Mary’s Church in Chepstow
Monmouthshire County Council Cabinet Member for Social Care, Safeguarding and Accessible Health Services, Ian Chandler said: “It is always so heartening to see people across our county come out in support for residents who are struggling.
“I would like to thank everyone for their generosity to the annual Christmas Wishes campaign and also thank the staff who work so hard to ensure that no-one goes without during the busy festive period.”
