If your child is currently attending year 6 at primary school, you will need to apply for them to transfer to secondary school in September 2018.
The Admissions process for children seeking admission into secondary school for September 2018 will commence on 2nd October 2017.
The timetable for the admission round is detailed below:
- Date application packs available 2nd October 2017
- Closing date for applications 30th November 2017 at 12 midday
- Offer date 1st March 2018
Please ensure that you complete and return your application prior to the published closing date, as failure to do so will result in your application being determined as late which will reduce the chances of you obtaining a place at your preferred school.
How do I apply?
Applications must be completed by the person holding parental responsibility for the child concerned.
Monmouthshire County Council has an online admission application system, which is available for you to use when making your child’s application. The system enables you to view and amend your child’s application up until the closing date of 30th November 2017 at 12 midday.
When making your application online, you will be asked for your Child’s Unique Identifier (UID). You should have received your child’s UID on the letter of application. Please keep this Unique Identifier safe and enter onto the online application system when prompted. The Unique Identifier will need to be entered exactly as it appears on this letter. If you do not have your child’s UID, you can make your application by selecting the “no UID” option.
Guidance Notes to help you complete your online application
As an alternative to the online application system, you can complete a paper application form. Please contact us on the telephone number or email address at the bottom of the page to requst this. You are not required to complete both an online application as well as a paper application form.
