The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a grant scheme allowing energy efficiency improvements for residents in fuel poverty or who are vulnerable to the cold.

The aim of the scheme is to install energy efficiency measures in properties that are currently energy inefficient.  If you home is energy inefficient and you are classed as being in fuel poverty or suffer from a health condition that makes you vulnerable to the cold, you may be entitled to a grant towards home energy efficiency measures such as a new central heating system, upgrades to the existing heating system and/or insulation measures.

Monmouthshire County Council will  work with the South East Wales Energy Agency (SEWEA) to promote energy efficiency advice and the installation of energy efficiency measures.

If you  believe that you may be eligible for help under flexible eligibility you should contact the SEWEA Helpline on 0800 622 6110 or email advice@sewenergy.org.uk.

For full details of the scheme go to the Council’s Statement of intent.
