We produce Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) to provide further detail on certain policies and proposals in the Local Development Plan (LDP). SPG does not have the same status as adopted plan policies but may be taken into account as a material consideration.

The following SPG’s have been adopted to support the LDP, following public consultation. The adopted SPG’s are available to view using the links below:

Wind Turbine Planning Advice Note  has been prepared at a regional level to set out a methodology to determine whether or not Environmental Impact Assessment is required for wind turbine development and the minimum requirements and standards of information to be submitted with a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment. This was endorsed by a Single Cabinet Member Decision in March 2016.

Due to a technical error some incorrect Conservation Area Appraisal documents have been loaded onto the website, these have now been corrected. Apologies for any inconvenience.

The following Conservation Area Appraisals have been approved by Single Cabinet Member on 23rd March 2016 and the amendments to the boundaries come into force on 31st March 2016. The documents have been approved as Supplementary Planning Guidance.

A programme of SPG to support the LDP was endorsed by Planning Committee and the Individual Cabinet Member in May 2016. The Report and the SPG Schedule are available to view.
