From the heights of the Brecon Beacons National Park to the wooded valley floor of the River Wye, Monmouthshire offers so many beautiful places to visit. With picturesque and thriving historic market towns dotted across the county, you can always be assured of finding interesting things to see, fantastic places to eat and independent businesses offering the best local produce.

Abergavenny and Chepstow Museums are now closed for the winter.  We will reopen on Saturday 19th February 2022.  This is a planned period of closure to enable us to work on our collections, carry out staff training and refresh our exhibitions and shops.  We look forward to seeing you again soon.  Please note the grounds of Abergavenny Castle will remain open – 11am – 4pm (Closed 23rd December to 4th January inclusive) and Monmouth Museum remains closed as we continue working with our collections in preparation for our move to Shire Hall.
