Monmouthshire County Council is rolling out the changes detailed below gradually and they will be complete by September as required by the legislation.

Severnside
The 20mph speed limit throughout Magor, Undy, Rogeit, Caldicot, Portskewett and Caerwent was introduced in 2021 as part of the Welsh Government National Default 20mph Phase 1.

Abergavenny
The 20mph speed limit throughout Abergavenny was introduced in 2021 as part of the Welsh Government National Default 20mph Phase 1.

Monmouth
The 20mph speed limit throughout Monmouth was introduced recently as part of Amendment Order no 2 – 2022

Chepstow
The 20mph speed limit throughout Chepstow was introduced recently as part of Amendment Order no 2 – 2022

Raglan
The 20mph speed limit was introduced under an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order in 2021. It has recently been made permanent as part of Amendment Order no 7 – 2022

Usk
The 20mph speed limit throughout Usk is due to be introduced later this year.

Devauden
The 20mph speed limit throughout Devauden was introduced recently as part of Amendment Order no 2 – 2022

Mathern
The 20mph speed limit throughout Mathern was introduced recently as part of Amendment Order no 2 – 2022

Wye Valley Villages
The 20mph speed limit throughout the Wye Valley Villages was approved recently as part of Amendment Order no 7 – 2023 and will be introduced later this year. Tintern and Trellech were introduced previously as part of an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order.

Mitchell Troy and Mitchell Troy Common
The 20mph speed limit throughout Mitchell Troy and Mitchell Troy Common was approved recently as part of Amendment Order no 7 – 2023 and will be introduced later this year.
