Independent Fostering Panel Chairperson
We are recruiting a Foster Panel Chairperson for Monmouthshire County Council’s
We are looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal skills, to lead fostering panel,
balancing the views of all individuals contributing to the decision making within panel’s
Panel takes place at least twice monthly (virtually) to consider the approval of the
county’s foster carers both generic and connected.
You will need to have experience of working with children looked after, and commitment
to fostering as way of caring for children who are unable to remain at home.
You will need to have extensive knowledge of current Fostering Regulations, associated
legislation and Wales Safeguarding procedures.
You will need to demonstrate an appreciation on the effect of separation and loss for
children and insight into the diversity and richness different foster families are able to
You will be required to read panel papers and identify key issues for consideration.
You will be making an important contribution to the fostering service as a Panel Chair and
more generally to the work of the Fostering Service whose purpose is to change children’s
lives for the better.
Grade: £250 per half day panel / £500 per full day panel
Hours: Approximately 2-3 sessions per month
