Come and join the team

Education Systems and Technology Officer

We are looking for YOU. Why don’t you contact us and ask about this role? It’s probably not what you think it is. There’s only so much we can put into a job title!

This is a chance to join the education wing of the Information Security and Technology Team, supporting our schools with their digital teaching and learning. You may not have the full skill set, but don’t let that put you off as we can teach you the bits that you’re missing.

We are looking for someone who understands the need to keep our education service running smoothly, with the right I.T. infrastructure and systems to support our schools and children who attend them. We want someone who cares about education and who wants to help our children gain the right skills to live and work safely in a digital world.

We are also looking for someone who can develop good working relationships with our Head Teachers across Monmouthshire, and to help them in every way possible. You will be working closely with colleagues in our Technology service, the SRS, to ensure the optimum tech infrastructure is in place.

Welsh Government are driving an Ed Tech programme to ensure all schools across Wales have an equitable standard of ICT infrastructure to deliver digital teaching and learning for the future. You will be managing this programme with milestones and deliverables.

You will be expected to keep pace with developments in digital teaching and learning, as well as keep pace with the best I.T. systems and equipment to support it. We will support you to build your knowledge and expertise in your job, which will also help promote your own career development.

This job is full time, 37 hours per week, and you can work flexibly around these hours whilst respecting that the business need comes first. Talk to us about your working requirements and we may be able to accommodate them within boundaries.
