A large part of public service is about managing and responding to information. We have access to a huge amount of data, these are a strategic asset but only if used constructively.
This new role is part of a significant investment in capacity and capability to help us unlock the potential of our data. This involves making better use of existing software such as Excel through to more sophisticated tools such as Power BI to improve analysis, visualisation of data and insight.
The successful applicant will have access to on the job learning and more formal training to build on existing qualifications and experience. You will begin to develop an understanding of data science techniques such as predictive analytics and combining large datasets to identify patterns and trends as well as automating certain data processes to improve efficiency. We will invest in your development and we expect you to use your skills to make a significant contribution to helping us achieve our purpose.
You will be part of a small, but growing team, exposed to a wide range of challenges working with people across the organisation. If you want the next step in your career to be into an organisation where you can make a real difference, this could be the opportunity you’re looking for.
