Monmouthshire County Council is introducing a

new “Request & Collect” service for library books.

Customers can browse the on-line catalogue and

then use the My Monmouthshire App to tell us the

types of books they would like and reserve a time

to collect them.

Collections will be available from Abergavenny,

Caldicot, Chepstow, Gilwern Monmouth and Usk

Community Hubs.

Four Steps to Accessing your Library Service:

1 Think about what types of books you want, you can use our online catalogue for inspiration. The form will ask you what your favourite genres are, alongside a comment box for you to request any specific books or authors. This will help us select the best books for you. (Please note due to availability we cannot guarantee any specific books).
Please note if you are booking for yourself or yourself and one other, we will now choose up to seven books per customer. However, if you are booking for more than two people, each person will receive up to five books each (up to four people).

2 Choose which site you would like to collect from. The opening hours are as follows:

Abergavenny: Slots available between 10am – 4pm on Tuesday and Thursdays.

Chepstow: Slots available between 10am – 4pm on Monday and Tuesdays. Also, between 10am-1pm on Wednesdays.

Monmouth: Slots available between 11:30am – 6:30pm on Tuesdays, between 10am – 4pm on Fridays and between 9am-1pm on Saturdays.

Caldicot: Slots available between 10am-4pm on Wednesdays and Fridays

Gilwern: Slots available between 10:00am-12:00pm on Mondays

Usk: Slots available between 10am-4pm on Wednesdays and between 9:30am-12:30pm on Saturdays

Work at the refurbished Town Hall in Cross Street means that the service will be unavailable in Abergavenny though the council looks forward to opening its new facility in the future.  Meanwhile, the town’s residents can visit and use any of the council’s community hubs to return and collect new books.
