There is a commitment to deliver a Welsh Government-funded childcare to all two-year-olds, with a particular emphasis on strengthening Welsh-medium provision. 

The Welsh Government-funded childcare for two year olds is focusing on a phased roll out of a part time, high quality childcare element for 2-3 year olds. 

As the programme spreads across Monmouthshire, families will be contacted to let them know when their postcode is included as a target area. 

The two year old childcare offer will eventually entitle all two year olds to 12.5 hours of fully funded childcare, from the term after a child’s second birthday, for 39 weeks of the year.
