Monmouthshire County Council will be carrying out resurfacing works on the A466 Dixton Road, Monmouth, as part of its 2026 Highways Maintenance Programme. The work will improve the condition of the road and help extend its lifespan.
Works are scheduled to take place from 5 August to 17 August 2026 (subject to suitable weather conditions).
To ensure the work is completed safely, the road will be closed to through traffic between 9:30am and 3:30pm on weekdays.
Access will be maintained for residents wherever possible; however, short delays should be expected. Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Plan of work:
- Red Section: 5 and 11 August
- Green Section: 6 and 12 August
- Blue Section: 7 and 13 August
- 10 August, the road will be closed for through traffic as preparation work is undertaken
- 14 and 17 August, outstanding road markings will be undertaken.
