Farmers, growers, food and drink producers, businesses and community groups are invited to Monmouthshire’s first county-wide Food Summit to share ideas and help shape the future of local food.

Hosted by the Monmouthshire Food Partnership, Tir a Bwyd | Land and Food takes place at Three Pools Farm near Abergavenny on Friday 6 November. The free event will celebrate local food and explore how to strengthen the way it is grown, produced and supplied.

Discussions will cover supporting fruit and vegetable growers, strengthen local meat supply chains and help food networks adapt to future challenges, with a panel featuring Sue Pritchard, Chief Executive of Food, Farming, and Countryside Commission, and other food and farming experts.

Visitors will also be able to join a guided tour of Three Pools Farm, take part in a hands-on edible mushroom workshop, browse a mini market of local producers, and enjoy a shared lunch made with locally sourced ingredients.

Alongside the programme, the summit will showcase the wide range of people, projects and organisations helping to shape Monmouthshire’s food system, and invite participants to help shape the next version of the Monmouthshire Food Charter.

Monmouthshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Rural Affairs, Housing & Tourism, Cllr Sara Burch, said: “Food brings people together. This summit is a chance to connect the farmers, growers, businesses and community groups at the heart of local food in Monmouthshire.

“By sharing ideas, we can strengthen those connections and shape the future of food in our county. I’d encourage anyone involved to come along.”

The event is free, but spaces are limited. Book your place at Tir a Bwyd | Land and Food – Monmouthshire Food Summit 2026.
