From Wednesday 14 October, residents, businesses and visitors can have their say on proposals to enhance Magor village centre as part of the next stage of the area’s placemaking programme.

Monmouthshire County Council and Magor with Undy Town Council are working alongside Roberts Limbrick urban designers to invite residents, businesses and visitors to have their say on a series of project proposals identified as part of the Magor with Undy Placemaking Plan that was developed in 2025.

The proposals have been shaped by feedback received during the Let’s Talk Enhancing Magor with Undy consultation last year. They focus on a series of beneficial quick wins to improve key gateways into the village and make Magor Square a more welcoming place for residents and visitors.

The plans include improved footways, enhanced planting and green spaces, better pedestrian links, public art celebrating local identity, and measures to create a more people-friendly environment in Magor Square while retaining disabled parking and short-stay parking.

Residents can find out more and speak with the project team at a drop-in event at Magor Baptist Church from 10am-6pm on Friday 16 October.

The consultation proposals and survey will be available on letstalkmonmouthshire.co.uk and will be open until Wednesday, 4 November 2026. Paper copies of the survey can also be picked up at Magor Town Council’s offices throughout the consultation.

Cllr Paul Griffiths, Monmouthshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Planning and Economic Development, said: “The placemaking plan was shaped by the community and we’re now asking residents to help us prioritise the next steps. These proposals focus on achievable improvements that can enhance the appearance of Magor, support local businesses, improve walking routes and create more welcoming public spaces.

“We’ve listened to previous feedback about keeping changes practical and cost-effective, and I’d encourage everyone with an interest in Magor with Undy to take a look at the proposals and share their views.”

The consultation can be completed online at www.letstalkmonmouthshire.co.uk/magor-plan. Feedback gathered will help shape the next phase of improvements.
