Monmouthshire’s Thriving Communities Events made a return in October, welcoming more than 250 residents across two sessions held in Magor and Abergavenny.
The events were hosted at the Magor and Undy Hub on Thursday, 16 October 2025 and at Abergavenny Market Hall on Monday, 20 October 2025.
Some of the organisations that were in attendance included Care & Repair Monmouthshire and Torfaen, Keep Wales Tidy, MADS – Magor Amateur Dramatics Society, Sparkle – Family Liaison Service and The Cookalong Clwb.
The market-style event served as a way for community groups and services to showcase the support and activities available in the community.
Monmouthshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Engagement and Equalities, Cllr Angela Sandles, said: “The 2025 Thriving Communities events were fantastic, it was great to welcome everyone this year.
“They are a wonderful opportunity for residents to learn about the services and organisations available in their community.
“Thanks to everyone who took the time to come along.”

The event is part-funded by the UK Government and is organised by Monmouthshire County Council, Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations and Monmouthshire Housing Association.
