Monmouthshire County Council is proud to announce a new series of free training opportunities for volunteers and community groups delivered through the BE Community initiative.

The training sessions are designed to empower individuals and strengthen local communities by equipping volunteers with essential skills and knowledge.

Community groups and volunteers can access free online and in-person training to help enhance their skills. The training sessions are designed to be accessible to everyone.

Upcoming in-person training includes HABC Food Safety Level 2, PAT Testing, Introduction to Social Media with ProMo Cymru and our brand new offering of Tummler School.

Tummler School is a fun, practical session, which helps you grow your community of volunteers, reduce burnout, and bring new energy to your group.

In collaboration with ProMo Cymru, BE Community offers high-quality digital skills training. These sessions focus on enhancing digital communication and content creation—vital tools for today’s community groups to thrive and engage effectively.

Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or just starting, these courses are a valuable opportunity to build confidence, develop new skills, and contribute more effectively to your community.

Monmouthshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Equalities and Engagement, Cllr Angela Sandles, said: “Volunteers and Community Groups play a vital role within our communities, providing services and activities that can enrich our residents’ lives.

“I’ve been fortunate to complete several of these courses and have truly enjoyed them. If you want to enhance your skills to support communities further, please take a look at the courses available.”
