Foster Care Fortnight takes place from 12 May to 25 May 2025. This annual campaign, organised by the Fostering Network, aims to raise awareness of the need for foster carers, demonstrate how fostering changes lives, and raise the profile of fostering.

Monmouthshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Social Care, Safeguarding and Accessible Health Services, Cllr Ian Chandler, said: “Foster Wales Monmouthshire’s foster carers play an important role in our county, allowing children and young people remain closer to their homes and communities. If you believe you could be part of this fantastic and supportive team, please get in touch with us.”
On the 22 May, Foster Wales Monmouthshire will host its annual Appreciation Event. The event will be an opportunity for Monmouthshire foster carers to come together and allow the council to thank them for their work in providing loving and nurturing homes for children in care.
Cllr Chandler noted: “We have a fantastic community of foster carers, and saying thank you never seems enough. Their dedication is remarkable and never ceases to amaze me and my colleagues. The appreciation event is only a small way to show our carers how much we appreciate their work.”
