Residents can check their collection days by visiting the ‘Local Info’ page of the council’s website: http://maps.monmouthshire.gov.uk/
Christmas time leads to more waste generation so the council has agreed that residents can put out two extra bags of household waste for their collection after Christmas Day from 27th December to 7th January. There is no limit to the amount of recycling that can be left out for collection.
Festive wrapping paper can be recycled in red bags provided it’s not made from foil, plastic or glitter wrap. Christmas cards can be recycled in red bags too. All food waste can be recycled in the kerbside collection.
We all produce more waste at Christmas so this year Monmouthshire is encouraging residents make this year a green Christmas – https://www.monmouthshire.gov.uk/2019/12/were-dreaming-of-a-green-christmas/
Real Christmas trees can be taken to your nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre to be recycled.
Opening times for the council’s Household Waste Recycling Centres over the Christmas and New Year period are:
|Tuesday 24th December||8am to 2pm|
|Wednesday 25th December||Closed|
|Thursday 26th December||Closed|
|27th to 31st December||8am to 4pm (last entry 3.45pm)|
