Monmouthshire County Council will be hosting a special Budget Access for All Forum on Friday 25th January 10.30am – 12.30pm at The Memorial Hall Usk.
The forum will focus on the Monmouthshire County Council budget proposals affecting vulnerable residents. At the event people with disabilities, parents of children with disabilities and older people from across Monmouthshire will hear from council officers about the budget proposals and will provide an opportunity to ask questions.
The Forum is a valuable platform to enable residents to have their voice heard, receive information and contribute to consultation and engagement processes.
The Access for All forum is supported and coordinated by Tony Crowhurst. Tony is an advocate for the rights of individuals with disabilities. Future Access for All meetings will focus on a variety of themes that are important to vulnerable and disadvantaged groups and will include money, housing, health and young disabled people.
Everyone is welcome including individuals and groups who have previously attended Access for All Forums.
The day will begin at 10.30am and include refreshments, free transport is also available. Parking is available at the venue; Usk Memorial Hall, South Car Park, Maryport St, Usk NP15 1AD.
Cllr Sara Jones Cabinet Member for Social Justice and Equalities said:
‘The event will provide an opportunity for our most vulnerable residents to have their voices heard, share ideas and suggestions whilst becoming informed about things that affect them. If residents are not able to come along more information can be found on the council website where a survey is available to post thoughts.’
