Monmouthshire’s Family Information Service has recently launched a new look, fully bilingual website to provide essential information for parents, carers and professionals.

The website –  – contains information about all forms of childcare across the county, details of how to apply for early education and funding, lists of services for families including pregnancy and new parenting support, additional needs support, birthday party entertainment, parenting support and so much more. Also featured are information about how to be a childminder, what to look for when choosing childcare and how to find help with childcare costs. Independent organisations can submit details of services and events for consideration, place job vacancies on the site and feature on the home page scrolling news banner.

Monmouthshire’s Family Information Service has been available since 2003 when it was known as the Children’s Information Service. It is a council-run, Welsh Government-led service required to provide childcare information to parents. Over time the website has expanded to include all services available for families and features school holiday activities, family fun events, first aid courses, local and national family services and projects.

The Family Information Service’s popular Facebook page ( is used in conjunction with the website making it easy for people to discover new information and easy for providers to promote their services.

It’s bright, inviting and really useful reading for anyone involved with raising a family”.
