Visitors to the county council and its friends’ Monmouthshire Wellbeing Pavilion at Usk Show on Saturday September 9th can look forward to being entertained and engaged. A variety of activities will help bring the community together as well as celebrate all that’s great about the county.

The pavilion’s main focus is on keeping well and staying active and its wide range of activities will appeal to all ages.  These include arts and crafts, a nature trail, face painting, games and a chance to try new sports. Visitors can find out about the many ways to make a difference in the community, learn new skills and meet new friends while organisations like Volunteering for Wellbeing, Shared Lives, and Monmouthshire’s fostering team will be on hand to discuss how making a small change can make a big difference to someone’s life.

Representatives from the Welsh Government’s Dewis Cymru project ( will also be available sharing the many ways people can stay well.

Local performers Silurian,  Allegra Ladies Choir and the Tenovus Choir will provide a fantastic medley of music while the sensational Topaz Tribal Belly dancers will shimmer and shake as well as offering the audience an opportunity to join in!

People may sample Fairtrade chocolate, browse souvenirs from Monmouthshire museums and take an ‘out of this world’ selfie in the space-themed craft area or with Wales Air Ambulance mascot Huw. There will also be an opportunity to relax and take in the activities and entertainment over a cup of tea and cake in the Volunteering for Wellbeing Café area.

A ‘Meet the Council’ area will provide visitors the opportunity to meet the county’s big decision makers and discuss things that matter while also finding out how to register and share information with the council via it’s My Monmouthshire app.
