Local elections held on Thursday 4th May have resulted in the Conservatives winning 25 of the 43 available seats on Monmouthshire County Council. This means that the Conservative Party will form the next administration of the council. The count took place in Chepstow Leisure Centre.
The Labour Party was the second largest group with ten seats followed by independents with five and the Liberal Democrats with three.
Chief Executive Paul Matthews said: “I thank all those residents who took part and staff for an excellent job administering and managing these elections. Congratulations go to all successful candidates and thanks go to all councillors who served in the last term.”
