Children with Disabilities
The Children with Disabilities Team
We provide support to Children and young people who have significant and substantial disabilities which may include, physical sensory and learning disabilities. We help them to live with their families and enjoy the same opportunities and expectations as other children.
Some children and young people need continuing and intensive support from a range of services. These services can only be provided by careful co-ordination of all agencies working together.
Children and young people with disabilities have a legal right to have their needs assessed (and the needs of their carers) at any time. Assessments can be carried out by a variety of service providers such as health services, education and social services. We have Social Workers who specialise in providing services for children with disabilities.
