Sports Development
What We Do
The sports development department promote sporting opportunities for people in Monmouthshire through working with schools, community clubs and groups.
The department support club development through advising on grants that are available and assisting clubs with accessing this funding. In addition clubs can access support by contacting sport specific development officers.
We also support schools in providing high quality provision and opportunities in both curricular and extra-curricular time.
Specific Sports
Developing sporting programs for children and Coach Education Opportunities for adults also supporting clubs in their development, in the following sports:
Football - Developing Football Within Monmouthshire through fun days, school programmes, club development and working with county squads.
Cricket - Developing cricket within South East Wales through club development and also work with county squads.
Rugby - Developing rugby in Monmouthshire by increasing participation and raising standards.
Federation Disability Sport Wales (FDSW)
Developing Disability sport in Monmouthshire by developing existing clubs and creating new sporting opportunities for people with disabilities.
