Brian is married with two children.  Now retired from a senior management position with Esso, Brian's interests include athlectics, gardening, travel, history, opera and of course, politics.

As well as his political career, Brian has been widely involved in the voluntary sector.  He is a former North Wales deputy director of the Samaritans, was vice president of Cardiff Business Club and founded the Silver Jubilee Fund of Help the Aged, Wales.
