Making payments
To make a payment to the council, use one of the options below:
Online payments
Council Tax, Business Rates, Council Invoices and Housing Benefit Overpayments can be paid using our online secure payment website. You will need the reference number from the bill or invoice you are paying.
Please note payments can be accepted by both debit card and credit card. There is no fee to use this facility.

Monmouthshire County Council operate an Automated Telephone Payment facility which is availiable 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Ensure you have your reference details available.
Ensure you have your Debit or Credit Card details when using this facility.

By Direct Debit
This is the easiest and most cost effective way to settle your account. A form is available on request from the Revenues Section at County Hall or available as a download Direct Debit Mandate Request Form. This will enable you to instruct your bank to transfer the appropriate amounts.
Complete and return by post to the Revenues Section at the address shown on the form.
A choice of two instalment dates - 1st and 15th of each month - is offered.
This method of payment is also available for payment of Council Invoices. You can contact the Recovery Team (Tel 01633 644350) to request a mandate form.
Please ensure you provide your name, address and or account reference number.
By Cash
Cash sent by post should be in a registered envelope, and sent to The Cash Office, Monmouthshire County Council, County Hall, Cwmbran. NP44 2XH.
You can pay in person at the Cash Office, County Hall, Cwmbran between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Thursday and 9am to 3.30pm Friday.
Please insure you enclose the bill, invoice or reference number that the payment is for.
By Cheque
Make cheques payable to "Monmouthshire County Council". (Please note that post-dated cheques will not be accepted and will be returned). Send to The Cash Office, Monmouthshire County Council, County Hall, Cwmbran. NP44 2XH.
You can pay in person at the Cash Office, County Hall, Cwmbran between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Thursday and 9am to 3.30pm Friday.
Please include on the reverse of the cheque, the reference number from the bill or invoice being paid.
Please note receipts are not provided for cheque payments unless specifically requested.
