To comply with the Gambling Act 2005, you must have a premises licence, permits or registrations to hold gambling.  We issue premises licences, permits or registrations for the following;

  • Adult Gaming Centre
  • Betting Shops
  • Bingo
  • Licensed Family Entertainment Centres
  • Unlicensed Family Entertainment Centres
  • Gambling in Pubs and Clubs
  • Lotteries and Raffles
  • Point to Point and Track Betting
  • Prize Gaming

Licence Objectives

  • To prevent gambling from being a source of crime or disorder, being associated with crime or disorder, or being used to support crime
  • To ensure that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way
  • To protecting children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling

Statement of Principles

The Gambling Act 2005 requires each Licensing Authority to determine and publish a statement of Principles at least once every three years.  This policy must be published before it carries out any licensing functions under the Act.

The current Statement of Gambling Licensing Policy, effective from the 31st January 2022.
