Coming Soon - Monmouthpedia!

We all knew that Monmouth, mentioned in the 1086 Domesday Book and the birthplace of Henry V & Charles Rolls, was a little bit special, but its good to see that the rest of the World is starting to notice this as well! Information giant and source of many student essays Wikipedia are launching a new project, Monmouthpedia, especially for the town! This will be the first time that a town has been given its own dedicated wikipedia site, and they aim to chronicle everything from notable places and people to local history and (my favourite) 'parking lots'.

They also aim to have this all translated into as many as 270 different languages! Thus, if a tourist from anywhere around the World wishes to learn more about the town, all he/she has to do is scan a QR code, and the information will appear to them in their own language, just like magic.

They need your help though to help develop this site! If you are a budding local historian, or happen to know some great facts about Monmouth, or would simply be willing to help with translations, then get in touch with them. They would also like any photos, good reference suggestions or further article suggestions you may have. Every little helps to get Monmouth on the world stage! And if you don't know anything about Monmouth, pop down and find out why our little town has been attracting so much attention!

For more info, check out the BBC article.

To find out how to get involved, check out the Monmouthpedia page on Wikipedia. They are hoping to launch in April, so get cracking you budding editors!
