Monmouthshire Pubs and Restaurants Sweep the Board at AA Awards!
The awards come thick and fast here! Fresh on the heels of Tintern Old Station being voted the UK's favourite park, three of our pubs and restaurants have received 'best in Wales' awards from the AA Hospitality Awards! The awards, which will appear in the AA Restaurant Guide 2011-12, were made at a ceremony in the Park Lane Hilton and went to:
- The Michelin starred Crown At Whitebrook won 'Best Restaurant in Wales' as well as being granted three AA Rosaries.
- The Bell at Skenfrith won 'Best Wine in Wales & Overall'.
- The White Hart Village Inn in Llangybi (between Usk and Caerleon) won best pub in Wales!
Fantastic achievement from all three places! They pretty much swept the board for Monmouthshire, highlighting just why we are considered the 'Food Capital of Wales'. Only six places in Wales have three AA rosettes, and two of them are the Crown at Whitebrook and the Crown at Celtic Manor! Hot on the heels of another sucessful food festival, as well as numerous awards throughout the year, it truly is a great time to be a foody in the Wye Valley & Vale of Usk.
