"Wildlife wonders at Llandegfedd Reservoir"
Sunday 27th June 2.00pm to 4.00pm
A "barrier free" family event full of games and activities held during Wales Biodiversity Week. We will go on a 1 mile (1.6 km) walk, looking at the variety of wildlife in and around the reservoir. This will be followed by an indoor craft session. Children to be accompanied by an adult. Accessible toilet on site. Assistance dogs only please. Meet us and the Welsh Water Rangers at the northern car park at the Glascoed end of Llandegfedd Reservoir (SO 332 006). (Not the New Inn end). "Exploring Severnside"

A 6 mile (9 km) 'Barrier Free' walk, visiting the historic and fascinating settlements bordering the changing Monmouthshire coast. We shall look at the natural and human history, as well as the myths and tales of the area near Caldicot and Portskewett. Meet Ian Smith and Denis Manning at Caldicot Castle Country Park car park notice board where the accessible and other toilets are also situated. ST 483 885. Pub lunch stop. This 'barrier free' route can be used by prams, baby buggies, scooters and wheelchairs. Great for the family group. Assistance and other dogs welcome on lead. Level or ramped access throughout on mainly hard surfaces, with 10 % grass. Adults: £2.00; Children: Free.

An interesting 2 mile (3.5 km) walk around the village and countryside near Grosmont looking at wells and other items of interest. Dogs on short leads welcome. Toilets available at the start of the walk. Start in Grosmont village, just off the A465 Abergavenny to Hereford road 10 miles (16 km) north east of Abergavenny. Park carefully in the village and meet us and the Wellspring Fellowship near to the village hall (SO 405 244). Free activity.

An interesting 3 mile (5 km) walk looking at archaeological features in the landscape and the reasoning behind their development. Meet Countryside Heritage Warden, Alvin Nicholas at the Keepers Pond car park (Pen-ffordd-goch pond) (SO 254 107) on the B4246 Abergavenny to Blaenavon road 1 mile north of Blaenavon. A short tour of the Old Station site looking at what the site has to offer and how easy it is to get around. Why not bring a picnic or enjoy a meal in the restaurant afterwards? Fifth of a linked series of walks along the National Trail. Join the Brecon Beacons National Park Wardens for this 9 mile (15 km) section of the National Trail. Meet at Capel -y-ffin before catching the bus to Pandy. From Pandy you will ascend onto Hatterral ridge, pass above Llanthony Priory before descending to Capel- y-ffin. A 7 mile (11.5 km) walk following a newly devised trail linking the "Circle of Legends" sculptures at the Old Station to the wider countryside. You will follow the old railway line to Brockweir bridge, cross to the village and ascend to pick up the Offa's Dyke. Heading south you will visit the Devil's Pulpit before returning to the Old Station. Bring your own food and a drink. Assistance dogs welcome, but lots of stiles on route. Leave the A466 at the Racecourse roundabout and the Leisure Centre entrance is about 300 yards on your left. Please park and meet Mike Urry in the area furthest from the Leisure Centre. A 4.5 mile (7.25 km) walk from the riverside at Ross on Wye up the slopes of Chase Hill to explore the history of the town's water supply. Discover the sites that led to the expansion of Ross in the 19th Century with its railway, brewery and laundry. Assistance dogs only please. To reach the start go over the river bridge heading towards Ross on Wye from the A40 (T). Take the first turning left. Meet Heather Hurley, author and local historian, outside the Hope and Anchor (SO 597 242) 200 metres on your left. Free activity.

A 'barrier free' chance for children to help make and decorate pied flycatcher nest boxes. The completed boxes can be taken home or put up in local Wye Valley woodlands. A prize will be given for any used in the spring. Children to be accompanied by an adult. Assistance dogs only please. To reach the start, leave the A466 at Tintern at the Wye Valley Hotel. Follow the road for 1.5 miles to reach a road junction.
