Monmouthshire's Disability Strategy aims to address discrimination through a clear statement of intent (the Policy) backed by a positive programme of active measures (the Strategy).
We are committed to promoting equal opportunities in employment and service delivery across the whole organisation. It is our policy to ensure that all service users, job applicants and employees are treated fairly and with care.
We recognise that people experience disadvantage and discrimination due to disability, and fully support the provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, and thereby we aim to develop good policy and practice to ensure effective implementation of this Act.
Our report Disability Strategy looks at a number of issues relating to disability including equal opportunities, the legal framework, recruitment and selection, service delivery, consultation, and the monitoring and evaluation processes.
