ROADS & ACCESSIBILITY
During severe weather roads can quickly become hazardous, blocked and inaccessible. Monmouthshire County Council co-ordinates the clearing of roads and tries to keep the primary route network open. (Motorways (M4, M48) and trunk roads are owned by the Welsh Assembly Government and are maintained by Capita Gwent Consultancy.) Minor and residential roads may remain difficult to negotiate so drive with care.
Police advice will be broadcast on local radio - if you are advised to leave your car at home then please do so. If you are stuck in the snow remain with your vehicle for as long as it is safe to do so. If you have to abandon your car inform the Police of its location.
