60+ Free Swimming Initiative

Did you know that if you are aged 60 years and over you cannot only swim for FREE at any of Monmouthshire County Council Leisure Centres, but also take part in aquatic fitness classes and swimming lessons?

Since November 2004 Monmouthshire County Council, in conjunction with The Welsh Assembly Government have been actively championing FREE swimming and access to other organised aquatic activities for all people aged 60 and over at all their Leisure Centres.

People within the county of Monmouthshire aged 60 years and over are able to swim free at Abergavenny, Caldicot, Chepstow and Monmouth Leisure Centres during all public swimming sessions and other selected sessions.

To take advantage of the scheme all a person has to do is to register, free of charge, for a REACH membership card, which they will need to produce every time they visit their local leisure centre.
