Monmouth Rotary Club are organising 3 major events at the Rowing Club at Monmouth in 2008.

• Sunday 20th April 2008. Sponsored Bluebell circular walk. Start at 09:00 . Finish at 13:00.
• Sunday 7th September 2008. 44th Annual Raft Race. Start at 11:00. Finish at 17:00 at Whitebrook.
• Wednesday 5th November. Bonfire Night with fireworks. Start at 18:00. Finish at 20:00.  

The Savoy Theatre, Church Street Monmouth are presenting tow one-act plays on Thursday 1st, Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd May. 

The first play, 'The Rose and Crown' by J B Priestley, is set in an East End pub in 1946.  The customers are bemoaning their lot with shortages of everything and rationing set to continue for a long time - until a stranger enters and makes them think again about their whingeing. 

The second play is altogethe lighter, 'What's for Pudding?' by David Tristram is a light-hearted look at what happens when a suburban couple's Friday night in with the telly is disturbed by their neighbours and mayhem ensues.  Tickets at £7 are available on the door or from Monmouth Museum. Curtain up at 7.30pm.
