Does the Authority have a wheeled bin service? Monmouthshire Council does not currently operate a wheeled bin service for domestic properties.
How do I get rid of bulky household items? They can be collected for a small charge. From the 1st April 2007 the costs are:
- £7.00 for one item
- £8.50 for two items
- £10.00 for three items
- The exception is fridges that are charged at £13.00 each
You may visit or telephone your local 'One Stop Shop' to arrange payment prior to collection.

Five working days notice is normally required. After payment the bulky items will have to be placed on the kerbside prior to collection. One Stop Shop staff will supply details of the collection day.
Fridges will also have to be placed on the kerbside.
I am unable to carry my bin to the kerbside. Can the Council help?
Yes, although certain criteria apply. If you are elderly or infirm you may ask to have your waste picked up from your front or backdoor which ever is the most convenient. However, in the first instance you will need to provide us with a letter from your doctor supporting your application before your request is considered.
Does the Authority provide any other special collections?
Yes. We co-ordinate with the NHS Cymru Wales by providing a free weekly clinical waste collection service for home dialysis patients and other sources.
