Built as a Victorian country railway station, now a charming site to visit for a quiet relaxing day out or to start your walk in the beautiful Wye Valley.

Riverside walk and meadows, children's play area, picnic site with barbeques, cafe, souvenir shop, tourist information.  Signal box houses changing exhibitions.

As featured in the "Good Parks Guide 2006-2007".

Activities and Events

The Old Station has a varied programme of activities and events, including our club - KITE, Kids in the Environment and artists in residence.

Carriages Tea Room

The tea room at the Old Station is open from 9.30am - 5.30pm every day.  Our fireman's shovel grilled breakfast is available from 9.30 - 11 am, for lunch we have a range of homemade meals including our signalman's platter with local Tintern cheese, a full range of home-baked cakes are always available and can be enjoyed with a wide selection of fair trade teas and freshly gound Rainforest Alliance coffee.

The Old Station is a member of the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Tourism Association, see their website for more information on exploring the borders of England and Wales.

 

Future refurbishment works and visitor improvements at Old Station form part of the recently successful Wye Valley AONB "Overlooking the Wye" Landscape Partnership Scheme, which will be attracting £2.8M investment to the Wye Valley over the next 3 years - more details to follow.
