Monmouthshire Local Transport Guide

Looking for a green day out in the country?  Use this booklet to get the most of our countryside sites and promoted walking routes.  Also, very useful for enjoying long linear walks in stages as well as adapting some circular routes into linear ones.

Annual 80 page A5 guide to using buses and local transport to explore the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).  Includes bus timetable and a selection of walks in Monmouthshire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire within the AONB.  Now more detailed guidance text than earlier editions and always including a small colour map.  Latest edition valid from April 2006.   50p

Ordnance Survey Maps

For following footpaths and bridleways, we recommend the use of the relevant Ordnance Survey 1:25,000 scale maps in either the Explorer or Outdoor Leisure series.

They show public rights of way and on the latest editions access land.

Explorer OL14 / Outdoor Leisure 14
'Wye Valley & Forest of Dean'
Includes the eastern half of Monmouthshire as far west as Raglan village and Wentwood Forest

Explorer 154 - 'Bristol West & Portishead'
Includes the Magor to Caldicot coastal section

Explorer 152 - 'Newport & Pontypopol'
Includes the SW quarter of Monmouthshire

Explorer OL13 / Outdoor Lesiure 13
'Brecon Beacons National Park - Eastern Area'
Includes the NW quarter of Monmouthshire

Explorer 189 - 'Hereford & Ross-on-Wye'
Includes the Grosmont to Skenfrith border area plus Graid Syfyrddin hill in the north of Monmouthshire.
