Technical Data on provided scooters and wheelchairs

Freerider 520 models - based at Old Station Tintern, Caldicot Castle and Abergavenny Shopmobility.  The latter has a full range of mobility scooters, electric wheelchairs and the like.

4 wheel scooter - Right or left hand operation

Maximum speed of 6.5kmp/ 4mph. Right or left hand operation with lever for froward and reverse.

Tyres of 320mm (12.5") give a ground a clearance of 120mm (4.5").

Weight limit is 115Kg or 252lbs or 18stone, with seat height from scooter floor is 480mm (19").

The seat is 430mm (17") wide, with a depth of 390mm (1`5") and backrest height of 400mm (16").

Steering is through straight handlebars with round profile rubber grip handles.

Forward/Reverse speed control is with metal push/pull lever and the power is controlled though a plastic dial. Operable by either hand.

Manual Wheelchair

Invacare zipper 2 model - based at Old Station Tintern

Self-propelled or assistant push capability.

User weight limit is 115Kg or 252lbs or 18stone.

Seat height from ground of 500mm (19") with 230mm high armrests with half filled sides.

Backrest height of 420mm (16") with 5 degree rake.

Solid narrow profile tyres. Front are 125mm in diameter and rear are 225mm.
