The CountrysideMobility scheme in Monmouthshire offers independance and freedom in the countryside, for people with limited mobility in a similar way to that which Shopmobility provides in towns.

Where? The scheme offers scooters and wheelchairs for loan / hire at selected countryside sites.  .

Most of Our sites have had barriers to access removed (If not - please let us know).  Now each site can be roamed at will using the stronger mobility scooters.  This can be done either through the CountrysideMobility scheme or by bringing your own scooter. 

Scooters may also be used to assist joining in with many Organised activities, events and walks led by experienced and knowledgeable leaders, from our CountrysideMobility sites and other places.  Please look out for the words 'Barrier Free' and check the full details.

Mobility scooters offer a great chance to discover your potential to explore the wider countryside.  We know people who have immediately bought their own after trying out one of ours.  They are now free to enjoy their local environment and any of an increasing number of 'Barrier Free' routes being identified, and created around Monmouthshire's countryside.
