Monmouthshire County Council wants to help the community to develop projects that benefit both the local community and the environment. Grants are available to encourage local people to take pride in and care for their environment.

Four different types of grant are available. These grants, of up to £1000, could be just what you need if your school or community group is looking for a cash boost to help with a project which will benefit your local community and the environment.

-         Community Pride Grants - to help communities celebrate what is special about their locality and foster pride in their local area.

-          Environment & Countryside Grants - helping people develop projects which benefit both the local community and the environment, so enabling more people to enjoy and understand the countryside.

-         Sustainable Schools Grants - a wide variety of school projects are eligible, but you must be registered with the Eco-School programme to apply and involve the whole of the wider school community.

-         Biodiversity Grants for Local Wildlife Sites - part funded by the Countryside Council for Wales (CCW) to landowners or groups who own or manage a Local Wildlife Site (LWS). An LWS identifies a site as being important for local biodiversity.
