The scheme has been running since 2001 and is accredited by the Welsh Assembly Government through the Welsh Network of Healthy School Schemes.
As of December 2006 100% of Monmouthshire's LEA maintained schools have registered to participate in the scheme. Schools are at various stages of the scheme, from the new recruits who are working towards accreditation of Phase 1 to the well-established members who are working towards Phase 5!
