Monmouthshire residents are invited to attend a broadband event to ask questions and find out more about the ongoing rollout of superfast broadband. The event, which will take place at Llanddewi Rhydderch village hall on 20th September, 4.30-6.00pm, will be attended by the Welsh Government Minister responsible for broadband infrastructure Julie James AM.
Superfast Cymru has provided almost 733,000 premises across Wales with access to fast fibre broadband but there are still areas of Wales that do not have access to this service.
Cllr Sara Jones, Cabinet Member for Social Justice said:
‘I strongly believe that all of our communities should have access to Superfast Broadband. This discussion will be very valuable given that the Minister will be in attendance, this is an opportunity for the feelings of residents to be conveyed and questions answered. Monmouthshire County Council will continue to work with our communities who do not have access to Superfast broadband to identify solutions which might meet their needs, digital exclusion is a real issue in our communities and I am determined to work with partners to ensure it is addressed’.
